As a young man, Guo Zeng demonstrated a precocious talent for painting. He was encouraged to turn his passion into a career. Guo trained with respected painters and mentors in his native Jiangxi before enrolling at the prestigious Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. Throughout his nascent career, he has continued to allow his imagination and a sense of whimsy to guide his conceptual development. In his work, Guo attempts to imbue his illustrative characters with a Zen-like meditative quality.
